We announced to you last week new home automation features Lidl Home soon to come March 1 with, in particular, connected multiple sockets and wall lights, but also the famous Livarno Lux starter sets. Good news, the hard discounter breaks the prices again and will offer its Livarno Lux starter kit at only € 47.99, or two small euros less than the price initially planned, but as they say, there are no small savings!
Livarno Lux: starter set at € 47.99 in stores on March 1st!
Le starter kit Livarno Lux, or starter set in French, is a very interesting choice if you are new to automation ZigBee using Google Assistant voice assistants or Amazon Alexa.
Indeed, this protocol has many advantages and has absolutely nothing to envy to Wi-Fi connected objects. Operating thanks to the platform Tuya / Smart Life, the SilverCrest home automation gateway is a good choice if you do not yet have a ZigBee hub and are using Google Home. Indeed, its use with Amazon Alexa is less obvious, but not impossible nonetheless.
In this kit, Lidl offers you 5 connected objects:
- 3 x Livarno Lux E14 bulbs or E27
- 1 x ZigBee remote control to switch on / off, steplessly adjust the intensity and select the color temperature
- 1 x SilverCrest home automation gateway Tuya compatible / Smart Life
A only 47.99 €, so you will make a savings of at least 7 € compared to unit purchases and will also benefit from a "free" ZigBee remote control and more than practical which, unfortunately, is still not offered on its own. If you haven't fallen for it yet, now is probably the time!
That's all very well but already they say that the range is 70 m and in an open area so is it really effective when there are walls etc. for a house with floors etc. for example and moreover at a time it Bulbs will have to be changed which in my opinion are not given
In addition, I did not really understand the trick of the USB sockets (3 on the socket block and one on the central) what are they used for exactly !? And what can we plug into it?
The ZigBee goes very well through walls… Obviously each case is different, but I personally have no problem with old stone walls that are two feet thick. While Wi-Fi is sometimes problematic, ZigBee is not. 🙂
